About the Customer
Weaving together timeless Danish design, long-lasting quality, natural comfort and progressive sustainable thinking since 1938, Ege Carpets craft wall-to-wall carpets, rugs, carpet tiles and planks for commercial buildings, hotels, cruise ships, art galleries, exhibitions and more.
Designers, architects and all of their clients have the freedom to choose from an extensive range of carpet solutions in several different qualities and an endless number of designs.
The Challenge
With the planned introduction of the new “rug concept” initiative, Ege Carpets was looking for a solution to give their customers access to a flexible and user friendly web based tool to design, preview and order their custom rugs.
For a streamlined ordering process and effortless maintenance after its launch, the solution needed to be directly integrated with the Ege IT infrastructure and processes.
The Solution
With the resulting “Rug Creator” we developed a beautiful and versatile 3d configurator that offers easy access to a comprehensive overview of all available options. Website visitors can explore various collections, customise colours, shapes, and edgings, and design and visualise rugs in several settings and on different flooring materials.
With the “any size any shape” concept, users have the freedom to design rugs that perfectly suit their projects.
The Additional Value
In collaboration with the IT department from Ege we were able to integrate our product configurator directly with the e-Commerce system and provide a direct connection of the configurator to the products database to allow Ege Carpets to change available options or add new product variants independently.
We also extended the configurator with further functionality and toolsets that are used to generate marketing material and production datasets.
